Last weekend, my wife and I visited Chicago and took in a Cubs game. It was my first time at Wrigley field, and I must say, it didn’t disappoint.
Everyone knows what Wrigley is all about, so there is no point in getting into details. We all know about the ivy, lack of bathrooms, obstructed views, old school scoreboard, 7th inning stretch (which was Vince Vaughn) etc. Even though I knew all about it, Wrigley was still awesome. I would go back anytime.
The thing that I didn’t know about was the atmosphere around Wrigley. The park is built within a few blocks of the city, so it’s a busy area. LOTS of bars. So many, in fact, that before and after the game, there are wall-to-wall people drinking and smiling and having a good time. Growing up going to Flushing for games, this was a welcome sight. I can only hope this is what they have planned for Citi!
Thanks for reading! Enjoy the slide show. Oh, and Let’s go Mets go!
